Project Description

The PeriFlux System 5000 offers a solution for Ankle Brachial Index (ABI), Toe pressure, and Pulse Volume Recording (PVR). It is also possible to perform tissue response to local heating and Skin Perfusion Pressure (SPP) measurements. The system can be configured according to your needs. Choose from a single channel system, measuring one digit at a time, up to a multi-channel system, measuring two digits and brachial pressure simultaneously, always with automatic calculation of indices (ABI/TBI).

Adaptable workflows and reports

The PSW ExM application software has been specially developed to streamline the workflow. Step-by-step instructions guide the user throughout the procedure. Color coding from screen to patient aids in the set up. All results are summarized in one report, which may be printed or exported as PDF. Examinations and reports can be adapted to different tests.

Laser Doppler for pressure detection

The PeriFlux System 5000 uses laser Doppler technology to measure systolic toe and ankle blood pressures. Laser Doppler has proven to be a sensitive method for detection, also in the low pressure range, resulting in high-quality diagnosis of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD).

Solution for cold, ischemic feet

It may be difficult to assess toe pressures in patients with cold, ischemic feet. Therefore many vascular labs routinely warm the feet of their patients using IR lamps, foot baths or other methods. The PeriFlux System 5000 offers an alternative solution. By extending the system with a PF 5020 Temperature Unit and using a combined heat and laser Doppler probe, it is possible to heat the skin locally at the measurement point to a specific temperature and avoid time-consuming, inexact traditional methods.

Extend with other tests

As part of the PeriFlux product family, the PeriFlux System 5000 Peripheral pressure system can be completed with additional functionality. Add tcpO2 to extend  your vascular evaluation with a microvascular evaluation of the limb circulation.

HL7 and DICOM compatible

The PSW ExM application software is DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) and HL7 (Healthcare Language Level 7) compatible and can import patient information (worklists) and export examination results automatically.

Why measure toe and ankle pressure?

Toe/Ankle Pressure is the recommended screening method to diagnose patients with symptoms of Peripheral Arterial Diseas (PAD). Toe pressures are of particular importance in patients suffering from arterial calcification (such as diabetics), a condition which often leads to falsely elevated ankle pressures and a subsequent under-diagnosis of disease.
